Have you been wondering how others make money from blogging?
Wonder no more, here are 7 ways they’re able to make money blogging!
I believe that blogging is the perfect way to make money from home as a work at home mom. I’ve been through a few ways to make money from home and blogging is the one that suits my lifestyle with kids at home the best.
The main reason for that is that I can work around the kids. I can create content whenever I have space to. I’m not working to deadlines (other than my own self imposed ones). I’m not working with clients. I can sit down and create content in my own time.
The other beautiful thing about making money blogging is that there are many ways to make passive (or close to passive) income, meaning that you can scale your business without having to do more work. You’re not trading hours for money. You can create content that sells a product over and over again without you having to do more hours.
So let’s get into ways to make money blogging as a work at home mom.
1. Affiliate marketing
This has to be my favourite form of income! It’s truly passive, meaning that once you’ve set up your affiliate accounts and created content around your affiliate products, it can keep selling the product and giving you affiliate commissions. All you have to do it create the right content to sell the product and increase your traffic so that you have more eyes on your affiliate products.

2. Create your own digital products
If you have something that you can teach your readers, you can create your own digital products. Digital products include ebooks, printables, presets, memberships and courses. They’re products that you can create and then sell over and over again. Compared to affiliate products, you will have some amount of customer service for customers that have purchased your products but compared to physical products, it’s minimal.
3. You can have ads on your site
Once you have built your traffic up to 25000 sessions in a 30 day period, then you can apply for MediaVine. I personally don’t like to have ads on my site before then. If you want to experiment with ads before 25000 sessions, then you can with AdSense. The other way that you can place ads on your site is to use affiliate products that you want to promote and use graphics within your blog posts or in your sidebar.
4. Create sponsored posts
Sponsored posts are posts that you are paid to create for other brands. You can reach out to brands that you want o work with a pitch to them. There are also sites that help you network and make connections to get paid sponsored post opportunities, like Bloggin’ Mamas.
Sponsored posts are more labour intensive that other ways to generate revenue but can be very worthwhile.
5. Blog flipping
This is something that you might not have really thought about as an opportunity. Blog flipping is very similar to house flipping but with blogs (obviously!). You can create a blog from scratch and sell it for profit or you can purchase a pre-existing blog and make improvements, just like you would be houses, and sell for a profit. Both ways can be great for making money with blogging.

6. Collaborate with other bloggers
This is something that’s super popular at the moment! Bloggers are getting together and creating bundles. They all contribute a digital product then all promote the bundle. The bundle is at a super discounted price but each blogger gets commission from referral links. So whilst you might contribute a $100 product, the bundle could sell for $70 and you would get a commission of that. The reason that they work so well is because bundles are so much more valuable than the product by itself and your audience is more inclined to make a purchase. The Bundle Co is an example of a business that creates bundles.
7. Create a marketplace
This is something that’s not that common at the moment but it can definitely be profitable. It’s where you create a shop that features other businesses in your niche. You can either charge the businesses a monthly fee for being listed on your blog or you could use affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, you would be using an affiliate link that would take the reader to the other businesses site to make the purchase.
As you can see, there are many ways that you make money from blogging as a work at home mom and as I said before, it’s my favourite to make money online when running around after kids at the same time!
