Throwing a Corporate Event_ A Mini Guide

Throwing a Corporate Event: A Mini Guide

August 1, 2019 Filed Under: Family & Pets

Events are functions that tend to hold frequently, especially in work settings. Each one serves a different purpose, whether it’s to create awareness about a new product, help employees to bond, or share knowledge.

Whatever the case, behind every successful event, is a mastermind planner. Putting together events is no walk in the park, especially seeing as you don’t always have control over all of the variables.

However, it also doesn’t have to be the most difficult task if you’re meticulous enough and rise to the challenge. Nevertheless, if you’re throwing a corporate event and need a few pointers to increase your chances of success, continue reading this mini guide.

Set a Budget

When putting together a corporate event, your first step should be looking at the budget. If one has been given to you, already, begin listing out each item, including most important ones first, and decide how much you’ll dedicate to each category.

If you’re creating the event budget yourself, similarly, figure out what your exact costs are and make use of technology to make creating your budget easier.

Create a Guestlist

The next logical step in planning a corporate event is creating a guest list. This will give you an idea of approximately how many people will be attending which is an important determining factor when it comes to choosing a venue.

After creating the guest list, prepare invites and send them out as quickly as possible. The more prior notice you give prospective attendees, the more likely they will be to clear their schedules so that they can attend.

Organize Refreshments

At any event, it is essential that you have refreshments, no matter how few. Since you’re inviting people out and they’re sharing their time with you, it’s the least that you could do.

With that being said, decide whether you’re going to stick with light snacks or serve lunch buffet style.

Choose the Right Location

For corporate events, it’s so important that you choose the right venue. You need to consider how many prospective guests you’ll be having, the purpose of the event, and your budget. When choosing a venue, you also want to think about other factors like the layout, facilities, location, and weather.

Aim to Meet Objectives

If you want to plan a successful corporate event, understanding the purpose of it is crucial. Know how this event is supposed to help your organization meet its overall objectives and what the expected outcome is.

For instance, if the goal is to create more brand awareness, then having enough branded merch around and distributing free branded gifts could help you attain this outcome.

Market

Putting all of your time and energy into organizing an event and then having nobody turn up can be a huge letdown.

A tip for marketing your event is to create event online content via digital platforms. You should also think about paying for social media ads and using the right influencers to help you with promo too.
