There is a great demand for remote workers and remote tech jobs in this globalized and technological age. It is forecasted that by 2020, more than half of the global workforce will be working remotely.

Remote work benefits both those that seek these services and those that provide their skills and experience.

Companies find remote work and remote teams advantageous when they seek to expand and optimize their businesses, and remote workers are able to find and establish careers in this market.

Remote work offers opportunities for a wide range of jobs, most common of which are virtual assistants, proofreading, web development, content writing, and mobile application development – of which individuals with expert Android developer skills are amongst the most in-demand.

Is Remote Work The Future?

Despite the jobs lost to outsourcing statistics being worrying to companies and professionals alike, remote workers are among the most satisfied, satisfied, and productive in their work.

The State of Remote Work report for 2018 (WorkFrom and HubStaff) found that of those working remotely, 90% intend on continuing with their remote work as their career.

Although not all of these remote workers are full time, 60% of those that work remotely part-time express their interest in dedicating more time to their remote work.

This shows that remote workers find remote work as a viable market and avenue to establish and sustain a career, and be happy and satisfied doing such work.

Remote work is a highly profitable job. The median salary for remote work can go as high as $195,000 a year.

However, it is good to note that not all remote work pay the same, and will depend on the kind of work and the skills required to complete it. Below are the top 5 highest paid remote work.

1. Legal Corporate Counselors

Median salary: $115,000

The main focus of these professionals is to provide legal counsel and guidance to companies and individuals needing it.

Lawyers and individuals with an expert understanding of the rule of law also provide other law-related services, such as case management, depositions, support regulatory affairs, employment laws, and legal transcription.

These professionals are able to cater to a wide variety of businesses – private, public, local or remote.

2. Medical and Health Professionals

Median salary: $106,000 ~ $195,000

These jobs are mostly for professionals or individuals with expert skills in the medical and health services industry.

With remote work, physicians cover patient consultations and provide medical diagnosis and prescription.

Nurse practitioners provide medical care and health wellness education and awareness services. Individuals with expert skills and in-depth understanding of health and medical care are also employed for their medical transcription services.

Data Scientists are most sought by businesses and institutions for their ability to analyze user behavior and trends. Such information can be used to improve and affect business strategies.
